it would make more sense to stop drinking especialy if the lyrica is helping your endo pain. You should have your liver function tested once a year or every 6 months in your case.

I have to agree with whyme. You're talking about a quality of life issue. If the Lyrica helps you live a less painful life, I would start by cutting out the drinking.

I would have to agree, cutting out drinking would be what I'd do before cutting out a medication that works.

I was on lyrica, it didn't work for me, things you may have to consider if you weren't to stop drinking but discontinued Lyrica are along the lines of;
infusions - I had a ketamine one yes horse tranquilliser, it was one of the most horrible experiences I've had.
I had needles placed into my spine to numb the nerves, also didn't work.
I now have a pacemaker implanted into my spine and the and the pacemaker itself is in my left buttock. If it came down to even quitting drinking for lyrica to work I'd do it, weigh up your options, this drug is helping, drinking defiantly isn't :)

Ok- I know about the stop drinking part- obvious- maybe i should have been more clear that the question was about Lyrica in general- it is a narcotic-- lots of women become addicted- that is what i am worried about- plus the whole getting off of the med is like getting off cocaine... from all im reading..
other option- cortisone shots every six months??

Yes, some narcotics can be addictive BUT being on a narcotic does not mean you will become addicted. When using a narcotic the way it is intended and not just popping the pills for the heck of it you can not get addicted.

you can, actually, get addicted to at any narcotic, whether taking it as prescribed or not :-/

Your body can actually become physically addicted to any substance/medication...even something as benign as Asprin for a headache. Ever heard of rebound headaches? With that being said, not everyone will become addicted to thier narcotic medication, and yes, taking it as perscribed will help lower the risk of this happening.

ummm... Lyrica isn't a narcotic....it's an epilepsy drug (anticonvulsant) which is used to also treat hyper sensitive nerve endings in patients with chronic pain.
