Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I was exactly like you. I was missing class all the time, calling out of work because I couldn't get out of bed. I didn't want to live anymore. I got so low that I felt I had nothing left to lose. I asked my doctor to take my reproductive organs. She reluctantly agreed, and we found that I also had polycystic ovaries.
Physical therapy and the surgery have done wonders for me. Before the surgery I wanted to die; I was tired of living that way. I think that you should have a talk with your doctor. Ask about physical therapy, try different forms of birth control. Weigh all the options before you do what I did. I tried everything I could try and it wasn't enough.
I firmly believe getting a hysterectomy saved my life and my quality of living. Best of luck to you.
