sooooo im a little confused.. i am STILL spotting from my lap that was LAST week 4/23.... is that normal??? and i have a weird question they made a huge deal about not using tampons after surgery... am i good to use them when i have my period next week or should i try to figure out how to get some pads???

I spotted for awhile after my surgery. Mostly for 2 weeks, but it tapered off. I was told no tampons for 2 weeks, as well.

it will be about 2 1/2 weeks so i should be good? did you have bruising around your incisions??

I would talk to your Dr. about the bleeding. I bleed for a while too, but to be on the safe side...
Also I wouldnt use tampons for your first period after your surgery. They say no sex and tampons for 2 weeks, but for your 1st period maybe just use pads.
Hope you feel much better soon, and the surgery was successful

i called the gyn on call tonight she said that it was normal and that everything else i had asked her about was normal i forgot to ask her about the bruising that i have but im assuming that is normal. have any of you had a blister by one of your incisions?? she said it could be a few things and that it is normal but i thought it was weird. are 1st periods after surgery usually normal? thank you i am feeling better.

I did have bruising and was told that was normal. Don't know about the blister, though. I hear 1st periods are bad. I was put on the pill continuously so I don't know first-hand, though. Hope you heal quickly! :)

ok she said that the blister could be from them stopping bleeding or from the tape. im on the pill she didnt have me stop. thank you. :)

soo just found out in the shower that its NOT a blister... its another incision...

don't use tampons until your second period. Get pads. The first period can be rough for some. You shouldn't have anything on your incisions. They need air to heal. Spotting is normal.

i only have a strip on one because it is stuck. it wont come off i think it is stuck to stitches and i am a baby and cant get it off by myself. ive been trying for days.

Stand in the shower and let it get really wet and pull it off. You HAVE to take it off TODAY. It will not heal with the strip on it and you don't want it start to growing into your incision.

I spotted for 2 months after my first lap and was also put directly onto continuous Yasmin with no breakthrough allowed for 3 months.

i just got it off.

they have had me on mine for 3 months straight but it didnt help anything i spotted constantly. and i felt miserable.
