You definitely need the surgery, it will give you the answer if it's endo and help you feel much better. Lupron works, but is rough on your body. Goin through menopause at a young age really sucks, but it will help. I don't think you need to panic about having kids. I was diagnosed 6 years ago, and I'm 31 now. I think we all still have a shot of havn babies. But you feeln better needs to come first. I hope it works out for you :) I'm havn my fourth scope in June. So I feel ya!

i have mine scheduled for may 18th. its good to know that others know how im feeling. i was starting to think that maybe it is in my head or that i am crazy. my doctor tells me she understands but shes getting paid to try to make me feel better. the lurpon scares me i have been reading a site with mixed reviews and some peoples experiences make me think twice about going thru with it all. thank you :) good luck with yours in june!!! i was scared over one and you seem so calm about your 4th. does each time get easier? what should i expect after surgery??

You definitely need to have surgery hun. Please do not do lupron until you have been officially diagnosed through a lap which is the only way to officially diagnose endo. I've had six and I will say for me I had no real pain after each. Yes, my stomach was tender where they made incisions and my body felt like I'd been through the ringer but the pain/discomfort was nothing like the pain i had daily. Everyone is different so this is just my story. After each one I was back to work in a week. You are not crazy and the pain you have is not normal. Do plenty of research after you get answers from your lap so you can plan an active roll in your treatment. Never let a doc bully you into trying a treatment. I've tried Lupron twice and was blessed to not have the bad side effects that so many have. But it was a very personal decisions. For months I had refused it but was then at my wits end and woulve tried anything. When you go home after surgery you will be pretty groggy (it usually takes the anesthia (sp?) a day or two to wear off. So plan on sleeping the first 2-3 days. Take it easy, walk slow and no heavy lifting for a few weeks. Some days you may feel like you can run around the block but don't do it. Your body will let you know if you've done too much. Some women have bleeding/spotting after a lap. I never had. I have a history or endo, adhesions and ovarian cysts. You will probably have 2-4 incisions (depending on what they do). Good luck

i have been doing lots of research sense they told me that it was a good possibillity. my doctor actually offered that if i wanted to opp out of the surgery that she would just do the lupron so im very glad you just said not to. what do the incisions look like? are they big and noticeable or gross looking at first? thank you

Don't be afraid to have the surgery. I know it's scary right now and I was your same age when I had my lap and started Lupron. Thinking back, I loved Lupron, but it does put you through menopause and give you hot flashes which was the worst side effect for me. It seemed like a lot at the time but after trying so many BC after that nothing helped with the pain like Lupron. I also had to switch Dr. my first gyno was the same Dr. that delivered me which was too wierd, but he didn't want to do the surgery. It's scary when you start researching this disease and all you keep reading is infertility. I found a Dr. that had more experience and would do the surgery. Good luck and don't stress your self out it makes the pain worse! You're lucky you found this group, it took me 7 years to even think to look for it. At least you can get multiple counts of advice versus the internet.

i actually just rescheduled my surgery for a week and a half away. ave a lot going on and the pain is unbearable i couldnt even stand last night, and couldnt even get thru half of my dinner. the infertility and the not knowing is what scares me the most. im just barely 20 and after waiting 3 years im with my high school crush and really close friend. he has everything planned out and wants to be a dad in a few years and i am scared that i wont be able to do that for him. and ive always wanted to be a mommy. the lupron scares me because i went onto this site that a bunch of people blog on and they said it ruined their life and a bunch of other things. i guess its normal for more negative to be blogged about then positive tho right? im so glad i found this site its making me feel normal again. :)

You're welcome. I won't say never do Lupron but definitely don't do it unless you know for sure that you have endo. There are other treatments you can try before you try that major one. Try not to think about infertility right now. Lots of women with endo have kids so having endo does NOT mean you won't be able to have kids.

You will have an incision in your belly button and the others with be in the lower stomach area. They are noticeable but not gross looking. There are about 1-2 long. They should only leave flat small scars that will eventually fade in time. They usually stich them closed from the inside with anything on the outside dissolving on its own. Don't scratch them just let the scab fall off on its own. After the first few days (u prob wont feel or be strong enough to shower the first 2 days. Its ok to get them wet just pat them dry with a clean towel each time you shower. And dont put anything them until they have healed completely. I used coco butter on my after awhile.

Yes, the surgery to make sure it's there but it's not sitting well with me saying "do lupron to kill what she can't get". I'm not trying to sawy your decision one way or the other but you will make the right decision for you and sitution. :-). Yes, basically a normal cut!!
