Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Hi Everybody!
I am so glad to have found this support group and hope that you all have some good advice for me. Last Monday I had a lap done and my doctor discovered what she described as "pretty severe endometriosis" and said that with the mess that she found, it is no wonder that I have been in pain. After over a week of staying home and sleeping I have finally started to feel a little bit better, physically at least. One thing that I did not expect, is that I feel pretty depressed. I am glad that they have finally discovered what is wrong, but there are so many unanswered questions.
I have my follow up next week to discuss treatment options, but my obgyn said that there will be no way to tell if I will be able to have children or not until I try. Every time I think about this I break down and cry. I desperately want to have children of my own and not knowing if that is even possible is crushing. She said that there is no need to go out and try to get pregnant, but my boyfriend and I have discussed putting marriage on the fast track so that we can try. We have been together 3 years, and marriage has always been our plan, we just feel that there is reason to sort of hurry up now. But, I am only 22 and my parents feel that this is rushing things and keep saying that everything will be fine. But, it might not be.
Has anybody else been going crazy from thoughts like this? I just cannot figure out how to cope.

sorry you have endo. There are lots of women who have kids even with endo. Your doc is right ... you won't know until you try. I understand you being scared about that but try not to stress. Stress can make your pain worse and affect other things also. I wouldn't suggest rushing to get married and to have kids before you are ready. Do plenty of research and good luck to you.
