The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
I think that is completely normal, especially after not having a period for years! I normally have some clotting. I didn't have a period for 3 months and have one now and it is different (more mucusy) than usual. I think your body has to clean things out after so long.
