Endometriosis Support Group
Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Always go with someone you are comfortable with, if you feel more comfortable with this new doctor, definitely stick with him, and send him your other records if you haven't yet. If your old doctor doesn't seem like he is listening (which it doesn't sound like he is) leave. Your doctor has to be someone you trust...Most of us here have gone through over 4 or 5 doctors just to find someone who listens and that we trust.
I think that you should look into another laparoscopy before the hysterectomy, and maybe look into finding a specialist.

Kat do you feel any pain associate with having the uterus tilted back?
My new dr told me he will sew my uterus to fix the problem. I cannot wait to have my surgery. I really hope and pray I will be better after it.
Thanks ladies :)
Before you decide to have a hysteractemy i would suggest you try the Lupron it is not that bad as long as you have a hormone adback. I use Norethendrone10mg and it works very well for me. My doc also put me on a med called Letrozole it takes all the female hormone out of your body and puts your body in a medically enduced hysteractemy state. I have been on it for about 2 months and had an exam on tue and my doc said that this was the best exam he has ever done on me which means the meds are working. I know it is not fun but it is worth a try to see what your doc says before you have the major surgery.
Stay strong,

If you look at other forums like hystersisters or talk to others, some still have endo symptoms. Hysterectomy is not a total guarantee that the pain will go away. I have endo on other sites such as top of my bladder and suspected bowel involvement, so those organs can't be removed.
If you don't want a hysterectomy, then I wouldn't consider it. If you are going with a laparascopy, you might as well go to someone who can treat your endo as well the retroflexed uterus. You may even need to have involvement of the pudendal nerve.
You may have the laparascopy and then they will tell you afterwards to go on Lupron. And, then you may ask how long will you need to be on Lupron. That's the question that needs to be asked and that's the answer you need.
I'm very partial against Lupron and the add-back therapy. So, sorry I can't give you positive feedback on it. For me, the risks far outweigh the benefits. I wasn't 'cured' by going on 5 months and then 3 months of Lupron, my symptoms came back those two times I got off Lupron. It seems that everyone is different. It was such a nightmare that I don't look forward to going through menopause.
Good Luck in making the best decision for you! I hope it works out alright!
It sounds like from your original post that you were diagnosed with Endo in Sept of 10 and went on Depro P. Did you have a lap done when you were diagnosed? Endo cannot be detected using any diagnostic methods. They can only confirm you have it during a lap surgery. I'm seeing more and more doc's treating people for endo without actually diagnosing it through the lap.
I'm confused on this one... for sure. Either way, having a lap done now will give you up to date answers and you will be better prepared for whatever next step you will need to take when the time comes. A hysterectomy just one year after a diagnoses is very extreme. Glad you aren't saying yes to that quite yet.
Let us know how your lap goes.

I had a laparoscopy to diagnose Endo on Sept 2010. I have been on Depro for almost a year. I think the hysterectome is the last resource I will consider. My original gyn keeps on offering the hysterectomy for this reason I looked for a second opinion ;)
Thanks for all your support.
Also if you're having other types of pain, make sure to get that checked out by your Doc to make sure that the endometriosis hasn't spread to other organs.
Good luck and stay strong. Hope the comment helps :)
