Endometriosis is a common medical condition where the tissue lining the uterus is found outside of the uterus, typically affecting other organs in the pelvis. The condition can lead to serious health problems, primarily pain and infertility. A major symptom of endometriosis is pain, mostly in the lower abdomen, lower back, and pelvic area.
Going in for surgery tomorrow to look for more endo and any possible cysts! Please pray that it goes well! I also have been put on birth control for the past 4 months and have gained 15-20 lbs from it. Anyone have any advice on this? They don't want me off the birth control because they say I need something with my history of issues. So....I'm looking for advice on how to lose weight while on the pill and wanted to know if anyone else had such extreme weight gain? I figured it would happen because it has always been hard for me to lose weight but I gain it very easy. I have to eat very healthy and excersize a lot to lose even a small amount, but last time I was on birth control I couldn't lose until I went off of it. If anyone has any advice please feel free!

Have you spoken to your doc about switching birth control? Also, the drs always tell me I must be on the pill too because of my severe endo and reoccuring ovarian cysts...i basically live with one on my right ovary almost constantly for the past 16 years and had an 8cm one removed. Even though the drs say I need to be on the pill, I am not. I get too many migraines already and they increase on the pill, plus the pill doesnt help my endo pain or even shrink my cysts. That 8cm cyst grew when I was on Ortho tri Cyclen! So do you want to be on the pill or are you just following the drs? Because we all have a choice with what treatments we want to do; surgery, Lupron, Birth control etc. Reemember that.
Have you seen an endocrinologist? Most of us women with endo have an underactive thyroid which can be the main reason for weight gain, and main reason why youre not able to lose the weight, They can test your blood and see if you have an underactive thyroid, or if something else is going on; and prescribe you something to regulate it. I have an underactive thyroid, it was a huge surprise to me. But found out when i saw my endocrinologist. Make sure to specifically ask them to check your thyroid! Endocrinologists are the experts with the thyroid, and I always say us women with endo should have one. There the specialists for hormones/infertility and God knows we need help in those areas!
If you do have an underactive thyroid its important to know for other reasons like it can cause infertility and miscarriages. So, my best advivc, go to an endocrinologist and have them check your thyroid.
