Empty Nests Support Group
Empty nest syndrome is a general feeling of depression and loneliness that parents/other guardian relatives feel when one or more of their children leave home. Empty nest syndrome has become more prevalent in modern times, as the extended family is becoming less common than in past generations, and the elderly are left living by themselves.
It took less than five minutes for the world to crash and my nest to become empty. Now I feel loneliness, worry, frustration and anger. I know that there were minions working in line with each other to orchestrate his leaving. I've been with my husband for 21 years, and in that time, I have seen him escalate from shouting matches to pushing matches with three of our older sons (2 his/1 mine) and now he's done the same to my baby.
Watching as my son packed his belongings into his car, I could hear my heart cracking to pieces. Yes, he's grown, yes he spends most of his time either locked up in his room on his video game or out with his friends, but I still heard that "Hey mom" every day. I still felt that kiss on my forehead when he came in from work. And it's just not fair that it's been taken away.

I can hear you hurt and sadness in your words.my 21 year old son still is home but is rarely ,rarely here..Still i know what you mean by hearing that 'hey mom ".
I hope you can still see him often and talk alot on the phone.And maybe the family could talk out some of the troubles.you are in a tough spot with your husbands anger affecting everyone.
Did your son move somewhere close by? i hope so and hope with time,things smooth out and the hurting stops.hugss to you..:)
