Empty Nests Support Group
Empty nest syndrome is a general feeling of depression and loneliness that parents/other guardian relatives feel when one or more of their children leave home. Empty nest syndrome has become more prevalent in modern times, as the extended family is becoming less common than in past generations, and the elderly are left living by themselves.
I've said it here before, but it bears repeating - we, as moms, are the "default" - our kids know that we are always here when they need us. And sometimes it feels like they take us for granted, but it's because we have raised them to be independant! And that's a great thing to give our children! I didn't appreciate fully, all that my parents went through and did for me and my siblings, until I was a parent myself.
Great news! Happy holidays!
