Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Support Group
Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a group of rare genetic disorders caused by a defect in collagen synthesis. Depending on the individual mutation, the severity of the disease can vary from mild to life-threatening. Common symptoms are unstable, flexible joints with a tendency to dislocate and subluxate, and elastic, fragile, soft skin that easily forms welts and scars.
So, GenuineMystery, what have you done now in place of the disc replacement if you don't mind me asking? I didn't know there were other options besides fusion or disc replacement.
I have been able to stay fit enough to make the dislocations seldom and mild enough that I have been able to work full-time until the end of last year (and I'm a 35 year old male). I am really hoping to get my back fixed this year so that I can get back onto a physical therapy/exercise regiment.
