Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome Support Group
Ehlers-Danlos syndrome is a group of rare genetic disorders caused by a defect in collagen synthesis. Depending on the individual mutation, the severity of the disease can vary from mild to life-threatening. Common symptoms are unstable, flexible joints with a tendency to dislocate and subluxate, and elastic, fragile, soft skin that easily forms welts and scars.
My legs give out throughout the day. I also have some herniated discs in my back so I'm sure that plays a part in it. But my legs were giving out way before I hurt my back. And yes after PT it would happen more often but now my knees have gotten so bad that I never know when it's going to happen....it just does. Using my cane has definitely helped me from falling when my legs do give out though. I also experience the extreme fatigue in my major muscle areas even without any exertion. The only thing I can think of is that you keep exercising and build up muscle as best you can.
Good luck!!
