Eczema Support Group
Eczema is a form of inflammation of the upper layers of the skin. The main symptoms are skin rashes characterized by redness, skin edema, itching and dryness, with possible crusting, flaking, blistering, cracking, oozing or bleeding. Eczema can be extremely physically and socially uncomfortable. If you're an eczema sufferer, join the group and get support.
So last month the cost of one of our scripts was about $32. I went in yesterday to pick up the script and they wanted $160!!!
No way was I just going to pay that amount. I was on the phone the majority of this morning trying to figure out what increased the cost about $130 in a month. After several different phone calls, transfers and holds we went into how the pharmacy maybe buying the drug from another company. I had to ask specifically if there was a website to view what our medications will cost us at different pharmacies. They then told me their prescription company (Catamaran) does have a website to look up this information.

After login a purplish pink option bar will appear horizontally at the top of the next page.
* Click the "Price and Save" button
*Then add your zip code, click the number of miles to travel for medications.
* At the next page you have to add the name of drug, dosage (ie 10mg) and number of pills over certain number of days.
Once you enter this information it will come back a list of pharmacies and how much the drug costs you at each place. I found somewhere that will save us over $100 a month on just one script. This is a big difference in cost over a year. We are going to pay more than last year but this simple information and getting our scripts at another pharmacy is going to save us over $1500 this year on just 2 scripts.
You may want to learn about the companies you are getting your drugs from no matter the cost. I do think it is at least something to look into as these costs are going to increase. You can't add 10 million people to a healthcare system without spreading that cost over the people that are paying

Lets say you use medication X at 20mgs using 30 pills over 30 days. I looked up a medication like this only at 10mgs using 60 pills over 30 days and the cost went down another $23 per month.
Note the medication was the same the only difference was mgs. It is something to look into.
Switching pharmacies may save you some bucks.
