This might be hard to believe, but I think that if you keep encouraging her to get to a better place...NO MATTER WHAT!!! She might get to the point where she's ready. If she went because she was trying to please someone...then that's not going to help her at all. Nobody knows what it will take for her to get to a place where she's ready to accept the help. But until she gets there, all you can do is encourage her. Maybe enforce that perhaps, the REASON she experienced what she did wasn't because of the place itself...but because she just wasn't ready yet. If she says she WAS ready, then I don't see how she would have gotten that sort of treatment. Again, just keep encouraging her. She needs it more then anything right now. Remind her that it just wasn't her time to get the help...but it's good that she went because now she KNOWS she wasn't ready for it. So therefore, she learned a few things from it as well. 1, they're not going to FORCE her to do anything she's not willing to do. Which could be part of the problem with her experience. 2, she's learned that clearly she's not quite ready for the help yet, even though she desperately needs it.
Time is a cruel thing. Has she recognized that she has a problem?? If she has, that's the first step. Now...accepting it and conquering it...are the next steps. Just because she may be able to admit it...doesn't mean she's accepted it. She has to do that first. Encourage, encourage, encourage. Especially when it's incredibly difficult to do so. Take care hun. :)
