I wasn't having a period, but it turned out that I was still ovulating. Just because you're not bleeding doesn't mean you're not ovulating. I got pregnant after not having a period for about five months and then I started getting what looked like my period during my first trimester. It took me a LONG time to realize I was pregnant because my body had been giving me mixed signals.
I'd be careful, though, because even though I took every precaution to be healthy throughout my pregnancy, it was a very hard nine months for me, my body felt like it was falling apart, and my son has had a lot of medical issues and my mother's intuition is telling me that this could have been avoided if I'd been healthier and having a normal cycle when I got pregnant with him. My body wasn't in a good place to carry a child. So, even though it was possible to get pregnant, it probably wasn't a good idea, ya know? He's had a lot of malnutrition and growth problems, things that do NOT run in the family.
I know you want to have a baby, now, but my honest advice would be to wait for your period to come back, wait for it to become regular, and to continue eating well and taking really good care of yourself. You could even start prenatal vitamins, now. But give your body time to fully recover from all the ED damage.
I'm not planning to try and get pregnant yet, it's just nice to know that I have the choice. Wish you and your little one all the best.
Thanks!
