hey I’m new to this website as well. I’m Sam(antha). I’m 15 and I suffer from anorexia. I have had it for 2 years now and I struggle everyday. My problem is that I am an overweight anorexic, no one believes me. I’ve been rejected by support groups and counseling because I was “not thin” enough. I was doing better in my mini treatment plan but I’m falling apart. School started and so did the comments. “ your so much prettier now! Teach me your ways!” It feels good but for the wrong reason. I’m starting to feel lost and I want to give up to the disorder. What’s the point of getting better if you get called the fat girl. Or hear “you look thinner but there’s no way you have anorexia! Your not skinny!” I’m on here looking for support and to hear other with an ED. I’m here to help and support right back. I’m all ears because the last thing I want is to give in, but it’s looking hopeless. Anyway thanks for reading this and for any responses. Smooches!

I'm so sorry that you were denied help simply based on your size. ED's have nothing to do with size and everything to do with your specific behaviors, so I completely believe you when you say you are anorexic. You matter and you are worthy of treatment and support. I'm wondering if it might be helpful to talk to a school counselor or therapist one on one about the struggles you are experiencing with anorexia? My hope is that you would experience less judgement and more understanding and acceptance.
