It is hard to "let go" and talk to someone about your ed. I know that it is hard for me when I see how much I have hurt my family by having it. It pains me when I try talking to my daddy about it and end up apologizing (which they say please do not apologize for it). It helps your family if you are open with them about what ti going on. You are not a burden to them. I am sure that they want to be there for you and help. Not out of feeling obligated to but, out of love for you. You need to talk to first step and ask for helps. Hard, extremely but, it is a step forward in over coming your ed.
I hope that I made sense, not really with it at the moment.
The very fact you worry about upsetting people means that you're not just out for attention, that your ED is an actual issue in your life.
It is ok to show your vulnerability. It is part of being human, and nobody expects you to be more than that. It really is ok to be vulnerable.
You've made the first step by sharing this with us (which isn't a burden in any way shape or form).
Now you can use the support you will no doubt get here to help you tell somebody in your family.
That's why I just say in my profile that I'm an anorexic not wrapped too tight.
Eating disorders have no social,, ethnic, monetary boundaries.
Eating disorders don't care if you're catholic.
Here at DS we show you compassion and understanding.
We've either been there, or are on the road to being there./
No. I don't feel "worthy" of having an ED either.
When three men held me down at the age of 11, when I didn't even know what being a woman was about...
I never knew what anything was about.
I'm almost at my goal weight yay!!
