I've learnt over nearly 2 decades of marriage that guys are wired to be "Mr Fix-Its"! That means their normal default is to hear a problem, then their brain goes into hyper-drive asking how can I fix this and make the pain stop (for me and for her).
Does this make sense?
It's great that you have support in therapy and also the meds. This all helps in my experience. Don't give up; you can make it. Recovery is possible! :)
Eating disorders are hard on family members. My ex sometimes got angry with me too for my food behaviours. Its not surprising as hed sometimes come home and find "his" food gone and the kitchen cupboards empty. He too was semi supportive but the situation was sometimes extremely difficult for both of us.
Of course your husbands anger is difficult to deal with. Its good that you can talk about it here. Im glad too that you have found a therapist you can talk to. I hope her/his support will help you get back to more and more normal eating and less and less urges to binge/purge. Wishing you all the best!
Your story sounds very similar to mine.
I am too posting after a long while (was here 2007-09) of being gone but recognize I need the support to stop the cycle of binge/purge and live a healthy life.
Good luck and if you need to chat, feel free to message me.
