I know whenever my mum has spoken about me to anyone in a less than nice way shall we say, it's only been out of concern, not malicious. When you really dont want someone to talk about you, it's hard to tell the difference, so i know where you're coming from.
Anyone can have a problem with food, its a tricky thing tbh. And i also think more people have problems with food than we know, a lot of people will just not know what they're doing is abnormal, or will refuse to admit it. The good thing is that you're aware, and actively seeking to get better. Going in the right direction.
Good on you for getting help, and it sounds like even though you are still struggling, you are making great choices, and are well on the way to recovery!
I think it is is important to know that sometimes they may say the wrong thing, and they may frustrate you at times, but it takes someone who has HAD an eating disorder to really understand what it is like. They love you and only want to see you well, and that is a good thing, it just means that sometimes they WILL say things that hurt, and to be honest, I think the harder it is to have an eating disorder, the more reason you will have to choose recovery :)
I still struggle with my disorder, and having a mother who choses to offer me only love in my quest for recovery has been hard, but it also means that I have had to own it :)
Jon, I think when she talks I guess its just updating people, she's always wanting to say everything about everyone, and this is something she doesn't keep quiet, though some stuff she does yes, and I could trust her with the world, more than anyone else I could ever trust, but its still hard since she has such a personality switch between her, not only when I've been sick, but long before than too.
Nicole, that is so great to hear that you HAD not still do. That gives hope to the rest of us, you'll be such an inspiration to us all! Like Marya Hornbacher, my favourite author and inspirational speaker, says 'Recovery is definitely possible' as she has proved to us all, the whole world has seen that it is definitely possible, and so have you :') I'm so proud of you! You've got a long and happy life ahead of you I bet, wish you all the best in everything you do!! :) x
