Hi and welcome here 100Lavenderfields :)
I am a survivor of incest (which started when I was 3), and severe physical and emotional childhood abuse (incl. torture etc) so I can relate to having to deal with severe trauma from your past and trying to heal. I have been diagnosed with severe PTSD but have come a long, long way.
Yes marital rape does occur, more often than people want to believe, unfortunately. I'm so very sorry you've gone through this in your life. To be betrayed by someone who is so very close to us is devastating and takes a long time to work through and get over. Some of the pain never goes but there is hope and there is healing.
For me I had to seek professional therapy and support because the pain inside was too overwhelming and came out in the EDs badly, with lots of self-hatred, shame and harm.
You ask how to heal? One step at a time, with help, with someone who is professional and trained to handle trauma on this level would be my advice. You've taken a huge step coming here and posting. Well done!!! Keep posting, try writing about your pain etc (ie journalling), find someone you trust to confide in (counsellor or trustworthy friend), don't isolate, recognise your triggers, realise that EDs are only symptoms of inner pain, they have a root much deeper, as in trauma etc.
You are not alone! Take care, Kim xx
