I think it is important to realize that everybody's story is different, as well as their recovery. Just so you know, I have heard many stories similiar to yours, so you are not alone. 15 years ago when I was severely anorexic I gained a little weight back, was steady for a few months and then all of a sudden my weight sky rocketed. I was scared out of my mind. But the most recent time that I lost a lot of weight, I have put it back on very slowly over a span of a few years, but I'm still uncomfortable with it. So either way, one is going to be most likely uncomfortable in gaining weight no matter what. Do you work with a dietitian? I know that mine is my saving grace. I constantly am paranoid as to whether I am eating too much, too little, or the right amount and so I need continuous reassurance from her that I am doing okay. She really helps put things in perspective for me.
As for your period, the fact that you did get it while you were on birth control is a wonderful sign! That means that your body is still able to function properly and you should get it back at some time. Once again, this varies from person to person. There have been times where I have been underweight and lost my period, and others when I didn't. Try to have patience with it, and if you are really concerned I would speak with your doctor.
