However, when people are asking for 'tips' it IS still apart of the e/d. They have to be pretty desperate and pretty scared to be asking. I am sure we have all been there. You may be on the road to recovery right now but I am sure there was a time when you were all consumed by your e/d and did not want to give it up even though there was a small oart if you that knew it was wrong.
Many of the sufferers are at that point here.
If we see a topic where it seems the persom is asking for tips, is it not more helpful to suggest healthier options to them and just simply DONT give them tips.
I will admit there have been times when I have been sitting at the leptop, fingers trembling, heart racing and tears falling, absolutly terrified because my weight was not going down and the despiration was SO FIERCE that it was all I could do to ask for 'help' through 'tips'. Thankfully the kind people on DS didn't give me any just other suggestions and those feelings passed if even only a little.
If I read this message at that time, I would have been so humiliated and embarrassed on top of the feelings I already had, I probably would have looked it up on the internet in secret which would have been more damaging and dangerous..
Your right, its not fair for the people who are trying to get better or are getting triggered. All we can ask is that we ALL put Trigger Warnings in our titles if we think it maybe triggering.
Please remember we are ALL suffering even those of us who are not yet on the road to recovery.
I'd like to say that I think that everyone should be welcome here, because maybe people in a desperate spot can be swayed by those of us who are feeling stronger that day to do something good for themselves. Lead by example, I say. By having boundaries, looking out for trigger warnings and standing strong with our own healthy views, we could not only help ourselves, but perhaps also influence otherse to a healthier happier way. I want to say, hotwheelz, thank you for being brave enough to speak your mind and get these things off of your chest. I was afraid to post my thoughts on this matter as well for fear of offending anyone. Take care :)
Shes probably scared too. We ALL know how difficult it is to 'stay on the waggon' and she was probably worried that she would be triggered and fall 'off the waggon'.
Lets just rmember that we are ALL suffering, we all need support and sometimes we can say things that sound worse because we are emotional at the time. So please guys as I said, lets take it easy on Hot Wheels and ourselves.
