But I do know what it’s like to cling to an ED. I believe mine actually developed as a coping mechanism for my other mental illnesses and only really appeared about 8 months ago, so I don’t know what it’s like to struggle with these feelings for so long. However, I’ve struggled with urges to die for years, but I don’t believe that’s when life ends, and that’s one big reason I haven’t done it.
However, as I was saying, I have clung to my mental health obsessions, ED and an obsession with food, and at one point water, so strongly that mental health centers often tried to pass me along to other treatment locations because I was unwilling to change my ways of thinking or eating habits. Who am I kidding, I’m still like that sometimes, especially with CBT. I’m “resistant” and “stubborn”. Treatment techniques rub me the wrong way, pretty much all of them make me feel angry/irritated. The point is I know what it’s like to stick with an ED even when everyone’s telling you to let it go. I’m not gonna tell you to keep trying to overcome it: it’s your decision if you want to give it another shot. Just know you’re not alone in this struggle with ED, even if everyone’s story is different.
And I don’t know if it means anything, but I love you, because you are a fellow person and my faith inclines me to do so. And I think you’re extremely valuable.
I honestly love you too, you are a god sent
