Hi,
I just wanted to write a journal/post to say hi. I used to be on this forum many years ago, but since i went into hospital (way back in 2009/2010) i quit all forums and sites that i felt i wasnt using as healthily as i could.
I am much further along my ED path now... sometimes i feel like i have moved on in leaps and bounds other days i feel exactly the same as i have in the past. Its a rollercoaster, but i am definately grateful for that - without the extreme lows, i dont get to the feel the extreme highs, i have always thought of this as somewhat of a silver lining of sorts. I used to be jelous of those without mental health problems, i like to think yeah, maybe their lows arent as low... but maybe their highs arent as high either?
I am a dancer, which makes it hard to battle the stereotype that my ED is all about my dancer's body (nothing could be further from the truth). Most of the time my dancing and teaching dance is the only thing that helps me to pull myself out of dips and hard times.
There is probably plenty more about me that is interesting (especially since i refused to allow my ED to be the most interesting thing about me) i just can't think what those might be right now :)
I hope that you are all doing ok.
I am looking forward to being able to receive advice from you lovely people as well as hopefully being able to offer some decent support back!
Evelyn

Hey yall. I took a hiatus from ds for a couple of weeks or more. I thought I was going to just leave ds because it's been so slow. I have been journaling in a notebook but since I don't carry it with me, it's been inconvenient. So I apologize if I caused anyone to worry about my absence but I'm back and will be updating my journals again as I have time :)

We are here for you. :)
:)
I also was a member for a few years back around that time and returned to DS 2 years ago:)))
Glad to have you back and I hope you find lots of support and encouragement here!
Jen
I also second that having a mental illness makes life richer in the end. The lows are terrible but the highs remind us why we live, why we fight the darkness why these battles are worth it. I have so much more appreciation for my life specifically because I have had to fight SO hard for so long just to live. In the end I don't think I would take back any of my struggles, they define everything about me. But I also have learned I am more than my diagnoses. They are part of me but they are not ME.
Thanks for starting the dialogue!
I joined several years ago but dropped it after a while. I have found that going through the trials alone isn't as easy as I thought it was. So I'm back as well.
