I was being really good about eating healthy and exercising without spinning out of control for a month and a half. Then I kind of reached a breaking point. Now I am either trying to count calories or over eating. When I do count I eat plenty and make sure to eat back most of what I burn off after working out but I just end up obsessing over what and when to eat. And I am always hungry. When I try to get myself to cam down and not do that I end up eating whatever I want and feeling terrible about myself. I can tell I have already gained back some of the few pounds I lost. I was so proud of myself. Now I have failed again. I am so disappointed in myself. I have been getting depressed and just feel fat.

How can you say you have failed after doing so awesome for 6 weeks. That is a great accomplishment and now that things are rough it's time to tell yourself: I have succeeded before, I can do it again.

Is there something you're avoiding with all this obsession with calories, etc.? I'm not downplaying the very real issues you're having, just wondering what's going on underneath...

I'm dealing with a similar problem. I was doing really well with eating healthy and exercising. I'm at a healthy weight and had recovered for awhile from my anorexia and bulimia. I do, however, count all my calories (something I need to work on). But, I binged and purged a couple of times and felt that I ruined everything and have to start all over again. I decided to join this suport group to help me get and stay on the path to recovery. I know it's important to think positively and not dwell on the past, so I'm trying to keep my spirits up and move forward.

You know, I don't think it has anything to do with failing and having to start all over again. It's a hiccup in your progress. Sometimes you will stumble. You just have to acknowledge it and continue on in your journey toward healing.

We all get worse then better but as we get better we get less worse each time.

I kind of go through the same routine. I work really long days so sometimes it seems easier to just not eat. Since I didn't follow my routine during the week, once the weekend comes all hell breaks loose. I live with my bf now and I feel so embarrassed. He is into training and follows his eating plans to the t. His self control is amazing. Trying not to eat when he is home so I don't look like a crazy pig of a woman makes me want to eat even more. If we're watching tv and he goes to the bathroom I run to the kitchen and sneak food. .. Or I go in to the laundry room pretending to do laundry and eat cookies or something.
