Ever have one of those days where you feel nobody understands where you're at? i feel like nobody in my personal life understands the ups and downs of having an ED, they just get angry and judge which makes you want to isolate even more. Is anyone else going through this or am i just a complete debbie downer?

I understand this and am dealing with it myself. No one seems to understand the mental and emotional stress that comes with normal, every day things for us. Or how things can switch in an instant. Just because we say we're fine one moment doesn't mean we will necessarily stay fine for the remainder of the day. I've also recently had a hard time with people understanding where I'm at. Ever since I became more weight restored, everyone assumes I'm fine. But I'm really not, and it's so frustrating to me that people can't understand that. I am in a better place in some ways, but I'm not better if you know what I mean. I still struggle, but because that struggle doesn't show physically anymore, they think I'm fine. Have you tried talking to at least one person about feeling misunderstood about your ED and your frustrations that they don't understand? If there's at least one person that you can talk to that will give you support and try to understand where you're coming from, that could be helpful. It's hard though because I feel like anyone who has never had an ED, will not be able to fully understand.

Hi AinsleyRose22, I also feel the same way. I'm 58 and my Dad and wonderful stepmom(Whom I love very much) expect me to be positive all the time. I'm not allowed to talk about any of the negative feelings and emotions I'm dealing with. And most of my friends don't understand. I have 1 friend that had bulimia for a short time but her weight did not go down much so she didn't suffer as much as I have putting on weight. It's hard 4 me to believe that I only weigh 110 to 115 which is the maximum weight 4 my height and frame. When I c myself in the mirror I look like I weigh 145. When I was between 80 and 90 lbs and looked in mirror I saw a thin to skinny person. I never saw myself as fat. My chichis were so small I didn't need a bra. Now they r about a size 36 DD. A couple of days ago when I looked in a mirror I just cried most of the day. Yesterday I finally covered the 2 big mirrors in my home w/a sheet. I'm only gonna do this temporarily til I'm ready to start accepting my body the way it is. It's just that I gained over 50 lbs in less than 4 months. C the last 3 weeks of my E.D. my weight dropped down to 61 lbs due to lack of appetite and being extremely constipated. I was so very scared. I have had R.A. for 23+ years. I dropped weight after I turned about 40 or 45. I always wanted to get down to 115. I did it the right way. I was very happy at that weight and I looked much smaller at that time. I wish I would have maintained that weight. But after I became disable my weight just kept dropping. Then I was liking how thin I had become and slowly started using laxatives and worked my way up to 35 duclax pills + 3 servings of Miralax. I went to rehab and they cut me drastically low which my stomach doctor said would cause extreme constipation. I'm home bound except 4 going to dr. appointments and I have a caregiver that controls my life. So there really is no way 4 me to backslide. And I really don't want to cuz I don't want to slow down my metabolism and I don't want to start all over again. I'm in excruciating pain physically and some days mentally. I know u wrote a few months ago. I hope u r doing much better these days. I also hope my sharing helped in some way. God bless U!!!!!!!!!
