Its a shock to them right now, in time they'll understand better about how to support you. As far as what they think will fix it, a lot of people who dont know better about ED's might think that, it's not their fault.
Give them some information on it, and they'll come around.
As far as you, can i ask how you are? and what you're trying to do to help yourself?
Hope you're okay x
dont worry about crying, sometimes you just need it. afterwards you always feel a little more prepared anyway i think.
you took a lot of really big steps, thats great. you showed courage to yourself and your family, and that shows everyone that your brave enough to beat this.
a lot of people want to get better, but psycologically they're not ready to be better. most people dont have it to just win. otherwise we'd have a world full of world champions at everything lol.
are you sick of this now? i know you're probably tired and weary of people now, and scared and contemplating giving into it over and over..but are you ready to fight back now?
Cause i dont think you would've told anyone, or joined this site today, if you weren't...
(lol sorry i heard that song today and im tired as i write this)
As far as being alone, i was actually near asleep when i opened back up the laptop to see if you replied so i could try and help, so it's not much, and i cant offer you a magic cure or answer, but you're not completely alone in this.
Good. you have reasons. Damn good reasons to get through this. It will beat you down and keep you there, but you have to tell yourself to get up now. Now. Not next week sometime, tiny little steps can start today. You've already took a massive leap recently, and i'm proud.
But when you wake up tomorrow, maybe think about reading some anorexia recovery stories. Infact i watched a vid lately that you might find helpful. I'll send it when i find it again.
Also start learning more about food. My brother is a doctor of dietetics, so i know how much it counts for. What food does for us, what it does for out hormones, muscles, our hair, skin, looks, feelings...it pratically dictates who we are.
But then their's that fine line of letting it define who are you, and nothing has the right to define you but you now.
Thats what you should do tomorrow, take that baby step.
I developed disordered eating around 5 months ago. My parents, especially my Mum were mad at me but now they just ask how I am and if I would like to eat. I do look after myself as best I can and they've seen that and that's what made them cut me some slack.
I find family always eventually come around.
Have you seen anyone about your ED? My Dad comes to all my appointments and that's what made him more understanding.
I hope you seek professional help and have other support with friends/family as well.
Good luck.
And you are right. You know it's better to get help and that's already a step in the right direction. Good luck!
