What is it that you disagree with regarding your diagnosis?
If you are looking for any means to "control your diet" to the point of obsession than likely you have an eating disorder. Sounds to me like you KNOW that you have an issue and are just wanting to put it out there. Most functioning people know that eating under 500 calories a day on any given day is not healthy so what is it that you are asking, exactly? Ok, so you're a vegan - that has zero to do with whether you have an ED or not. Plenty of people are vegan and still maintain a healthy lifestyle/caloric intake. If wanting to be thin is the only reason you're vegan, well...you're likely fighting a losing battle and do indeed have an issue.
You've listed some unhealthy behaviors that are characteristic of eating disorders, so I'm wondering what you disagree with...is it that you don't engage in these behaviors all the time? Being a vegan has nothing to do with eating disorders unless you are using veganism as a way to control your diet and minimize your caloric intake to unhealthy levels.
None of us here are medical professionals so we really can't give you a diagnosis one way or the other....If you disagree with your diagnosis, but still have your doubts, you can always get a 2nd opinion from a different Dr...perhaps one that specializes in EDs. It might be wise to continue counseling of some sort until you feel you have a better handle on things.
Healing is scary no matter what it is you are healing. You can remain in denial and continue studying your behavior with food until you are ready to accept it. And who knows, maybe you don't have an ED at all and that will be wonderful news. But I agree with forestfreek when she says that therapy can help no matter what. I am a huge advocate for therapy as it has helped me so much in my life. It has always moved me forward. Can't hurt to give it a try. The worst it can do is help you feel better.
