When I found my therapist, it took forever to see her. She is seriously the only ED therapist within a 3 hr radius of here. What do you do when there is no one else? Anyone know any good Skype therapists?
One thing you should know is that people with illnesses (especially addictions) often are hyperaware of "signs" that others may display - even if they are interpreted completely wrong (ex: someone who eats alot and repeatedly runs to the bathroom isn't bulimic, they may have horrible digestive issues they are trying to fix unsucessfully, you get my point.
The things you pointed out:
1) Frail looking: there are many, many disorders which make someone frail, thin, pale, sickly looking, etc not just an ED. Heart, liver, digestive, neurolgoical, cancers, etc etc.
2) Unable to talk at 7PM: if she is in a hospital, there may be rules and regulations as to visiting hours - actually, the hospitals I know have such rules, even if the patient is simply on a general medical floor, and she would definitely not have a cell phone - it doesn't matter which hospital she is in, cells phones are not allowed in (it interfers with the hospital equipment). Been to the ER? Ever notice those "no cellphones beyond this point" signs? Those exist throughout the whole hospital.
3) No husband: Logically, let's think. Some people have jobs which they cannot just drop out of, it's the nature of the work. Also, if she's in the hospital, the bills are going to be piling up soon enough and her husband knows this, so he continues working.
4) Hospitalized in Dallas: There are PLENTY of hospitals that DON'T specialize in ED treatment in Dallas! Also, I know where I live that the general thought is "get stabilized at X then get transferred to Y" because the "Y" hospital is far better equipped to handle problems properly, so this is probably the case in your area.
Hopefully, this settles you down. Take a step back and look at the situation objectively. And BREATHE. You'll find a therapist soon, just keep looking.
