If you do have irregularity issues--and I've had them since minute-one, in this life--the pesty (but eventually pretty necessary) colonoscopy can also be helpful. There is always the possibility that things just aren't digesting like they should...your stomach is recently empty, maybe, but you still feel hungry/have basic cravings for things rich in certain vitamins and minerals...
And, if you are like me, you could be an emotional eater...I never had troubles with overeating, until I hit my pre-adolescent years (10 - 12)....after that, it was always an uphill battle. Was it emerging hormones? Probably. Was it learning to steer and vent my feelings, to seem/be more "adult?" I don't doubt it. But for me, the hormone growth-thing was a long. long while back...now, it has been 7 years, since I had a complete hysterectomy...so, what's driving the overeating, now? Well, for me, it's family issues, trying to close the estate of our dead parents and feeling awkward about how long I've now been unemployed...that's just for starters. The rest, is probably just aging and tiredness...who doesn't just reach for something healthy to get a little burst of energy...but, the overly-rich food you really love is more fun to taste and snack on, let's face it.
I know that I, personally, need a lot more discipline and counseling...as soon as I can shoehorn that in! For now, just getting to the coping stage will have to do; but I know I need a new blood profile and private/group therapy for my anxieties...and, of course, more exercise. Now that the last of our ice and snow is going, I need to get back to walking and the stationary bike, outside.
Don't, please, feel self-conscious about whether you are obsessing about food. Everyone has something...shopping, eating, fantasies...that's how we cope and keep going. I know without some distraction, I would have just despaired and stopped, altogether. I think the key must be to strike a bit of ragged balance...be a little bad, but try to do your body good...I do think our feelings and brain functions are so powerful--they do steer our motivations, yet we are still learning how it all works...
Feel free to message me, if you want to brainstorm ideas to help your whole self...we are all on a journey to try and make our lives happier and more in-control...blessings! :>)
