and thank you so much :)
1. Dark brown coffee ground like blood is bad bad bad. As in, you're bleeding internally and need to call 911 (or local emerg. number). Don't drive! You may pass out behind the wheel. Remember this: coffee grounds=emergency now.
2. Bright red blood is most likely caused by esophageal tears. Or you could have scratched the back of your throat (if you purge with fingers or something other). A little bit of blood, say on your fingers or what not is *typically* a concern. If you purge and there's a lot, that's an emergency and you once again need to phone emergency line.
Okay. So, could the blood be from the nosebleed? Yes, possible. Pressure from purging can burst blood vessels in the nose, eyes (which looks worse than it is) or under the skin on the face. I get awful nosebleeds when I don't purge so, personally, I have an idea of what would be concerning. If you can judge the amount of blood a normal nosebleed has and then you have a nosebleed after purging, compare them. If its too much, get yourself medical attention.
If you're having stomach or chest pains after or during purging you need to see a doctor ASAP. Granted you will get muscle strain with purging but never brush it off. Chest pains are particularly worrying as purgers are at risk for electrolyte imbalances which can cause heart attacks. I want to point out that purging is so dangerous because your heart can just stop. You have no warning signs. You literally drop to the ground dead.
Repeated purging will cause structural heart problems as well as other PERMANENT problems. You may wind up like me, where your cardiac sphincter valve doesn't close and you reflux constantly and can't lie down without your stomach contents coming up your esophagus. Or, like me, your heart gets changed. I have a small mitral valve regurgitation (the flap in my heart allows blood to flow backwards). Or you may get gastroparesis or "stomach paralysis" also like me. Gastroparesis and acid reflux don't mix well. But basically my stomach takes HOURS(like up to 10ish on a full stomach)to digest food as opposed to an hour in most other people.
To be honest here, I'm trying to scare the s*** out of you so you stop purging. Not worth it in the long run...well, that is if you live long enough for the long run. Not mean nor rude however it may seem, just trying to save your life.
