My mom just spoke to me this morning and whenever people first meet me they would think i am pretty and nice. But once they get involved with me or get closer to me, they would see that i am brainless or just a "dumb brunette". It really triggered me to binge and purge and my mom told me that i need to find a job or else i will end up on the streets. Of course i wouldn't want that. But the thing is i am slower than average people and i am never really happy. i don't have a lot of friends and i feel like i am giving up. i relate so much to Marilyn Monroe and i have a strong fear that i will end up like her. if i do end up like her, i wouldn't be surprised. i never really thought about getting married or having kids. i want kids but fear of having them at the same time. i will continue this soon cos i have more stuff to add to this.
I am not sure why you fear that you will end up like Marilyn Monroe, but you certainly don't have to....& you are young enough that decisions abt kids don't have to be made any time soon. I don't know if you see a counselor, but it could be really helpful for you in dealing with this stuff, & in trying to figure out what direction YOU want your life to go in......and for finding some hope for your future.
Please don't give up. Recovery IS possible, as are making friends & being able to be happy.
The reason that i have a fear i will end up like Marilyn Monroe is that I relate to her SO much that i find it a little scary. i feel that Marilyn, through her insecurities and how people treated her, I relate to 100%. i just feel like i'm blessed & damaged at the same time. I do believe i am a lot like Marilyn except all the glitz and glamour and fame.
