All the weight I've gained from then on...which, at one point, included an additional 15 pounds went to my stomach and hips. It actually sucks badly. When I was in a period of recovery - 5 months being the longest - I slowly lost the huge protruding stomach that was bloated. Did the weight re-distribute? Yea. But I am still stuck with the weight mostly on my stomach and hips. Of course whenever I relapse I always get bloated. That messes with my head because while I could be losing weight my stomach just gets bigger due to bloating.
I've read in my recovery books that weight redistributing and reaching a "set point" and having normal eating can take up to a year. You're halfway there! Don't give up, plaese. The reason you are bingeing is because you body is wanting as many calories as it can get. This goes back to the cave man age. The body always prepares for another famine. When food is available the body just eats all it can in order to be able to withstand the next famine. It has never left our genes for whatever reason. It does prove problematic now but it will eventually stop. You need to learn to control it. Like I mentioned I did a slow calorie reduction. I went down slowly so my body didn't go into shock and totally fight back against my efforts. Just something you might want to try.
