Some of you might have read my posts before so I'm just updating on what's happening now.
My GP is now back off holiday. Cut a long story short it didn't go well but I was seeing my pdoc today. He was aware of what had happened because my Mum had phoned him as he was going to be phoning my GP later that day. He decided that he would wait to see me first, and then phone him.
I had my appointment with him this morning and I feel SO much better.
We explained everything that happened yesterday again and he asked if it would be ok to weight me because we were now unsure of who's scales were right. Turns out ours at home are, I wont use numbers.
He then took us back to his room and phoned my GP whilst we were there. He spoke to him and explained what he wanted to do but at first my GP who only saw me YESTERDAY said I weighed 7 stone. I wont say my actual weight but my pdoc KNEW this was wrong because he's just weighed me. He wasn't impressed. But he's now left it with my GP to start making the arrangements for me to be referred to the local eating disorder unit (the private one which accepts NHS) but I was right in thinking that there are NO other facilities in our area apart from this private one. So as far as we can tell, they shouldn't be able to refuse me. My GP has told my pdoc that he will contact him after the weekend to let him know how he's getting on.
The relief of things going ahead finally is unbelievable. I had such a horrible day yesterday and lost all hope but today it's all changed an my hope has been restored.

I'm so happyy because there was a risk of not getting into this unit because the NHS would havve to fund me for a private unit and this was worrying. The thought of going into a normal NHS hospital was terrifying, especially around here! I can just imagine trying to recover and eat with the slop they serve.
I know Cygnet Hospital will be lovely because it's under the private sector. Plus I've been in it's sister hospital for the Bipolar and it was so nice in there. The staff really care and the food was out of this world! They gave you a menu with a choice of two things for dinner and dessert. I remember (obviously when I was eating OK) one of the dinners was steak. Not a deep fried thing in site! Out of interest my pdoc asked my GP if he knew of any other eating disorder units in the area but as I thought and had researched...there are NONE apart from this one. This is going to be a HUGE advantage for me.
It's in the NICE guidelines (thank you Fane!) that they can't send you miles and miles away if there is facilities near by because relatives have to be involved. They can't be involved if I'm the other side of London. No one even drives in my family!
