Hi first off thank you to the creators and everyone involved here. I am actually here because I am very close with someone who has Dyscalculia. So obviously I do not have any first hand knowledge of how difficult that is to deal with. That doesn't change the fact that I want to help her very much (she really wants the help) and have no idea where to start. It is bad enough that she was too stressed to finish high school and it's very draining on her. She also became pregnant since then and is now a single mother.

She wants to go back for her GED so badly. It weighs on her daily and it breaks my heart. She has been tested and told she has Dyscalculia. She is extremely intelligent and the fact that this is holding her back from a higher education is a shame.

I would love love love any solid advice on what to do. She is very stressed about taking the GED math portion of the test. She just gives up on the idea because of it. She doesn't have a lot of money for private tutors. Is there anything out there for a person like her?

I've never had to get my GED, but I would like to assume that whomever is giving the test would accept reasonable accomodations, ie help with studying before the portion. If she can prove she has it, which she may have to do, most psychologists recommend, or pretty much order, the use of a calculator in math testing. In some cases, it's not an INABILITY to do it, it's just SEVERELY DIFFICULT. In your area, check with low income medical facilities to see if they offer some type of (I hate to say cheap)inexpensive counseling to give proof that she DOES have this disability. It may not work, but it's better than nothing.
Good luck with the math on the GED, assuming she hasn't taken it already, given the date of this post was April of nearly to two years ago.

    My 6mo twin DD's are EBF and just started rice cereal on the first. Everything has been going fine except this morning one of them had a diaper rash (lots of redness around her anus). I read this as one of the signs of an allergy. BUT I did just buy a different brand diaper yesterday (which they have used randomly before w/no issues). Do you think its the cereal or the diaper?
