Over the holidays I got to see 2 of my 3 children. My oldest son I have not seen in 8 years and he lives the closest.
When my daughter went over to see my older son I was happy for her ( and jealous)as she has not seen him in 8 years also but her reason for not seeing him is because she lives in KY and he lives in PA. My reason for not seeing my older son is quite different.
It is a long story but the short version is that he got mad at me for something that was none of his business and I told him to stay out of it. Since that argument, I have tried to contact him by writing him a letter and explaining my position but to no avail. He still will not contact me.
I am hurt that he wants to see his other 2 siblings but not me.
I thought I was over it but when my daughter went to see him it brought all those feelings back.
I ask my daughter to give him my phone # and if he wanted to, to call me. No call yet.
I need to get over this.
In my mind, I have done everything I can to heal this relationship but apparently he is not ready or willing to do the same.
How do I let go AGAIN?

It's hard when the other person isn't trying and doesn't reciprocate, and it hurts too. But as long as you still have the desire to reconnect, I think you have nothing to lose in trying.
My daughter decided to "surprise" me and bring her older brother with her to visit me.
He didn't really say much to me but said he would keep in touch.
It has been 2 weeks and not a word.
We will see what happens.
I have decided, it is his lost not mine.
