As I was reading your post it was as if I was writing it. I am under so much stress that most days I feel like I can't put one foot in front of the other. My son is bipolar, got in trouble because he stopped taking his meds and is now in jail. He should be in the hospital. My daughter is upset with me for supporting him (a long story). She is not speaking to me right now which means I don't get to see my precious Granddaughter's. I hope someone will reply and let us know how to stop the stress. I have Crohns and the flares are killing me. I wish I had an answer for you but maybe between the two of us we can find one! Good Luck!!!
First, take a breath and a timeout and consider your life.
Stress can also be cause by not getting enough exercise or fresh air, by over sleeping or under sleeping, not eating the right foods or not enough, smoking, drinking or withdrawing yourself from socialising.
Try to keep your to do list for the day simple and don't over crowd, and learn how to say no to people...be more assertive. You have to start to take control. Can you do something to sort what you're stressing about? If not, let it go. Easier said than done...I know :o(
Maybe start a Stress/Worry Journal?
When I was looking I found the following suggestion:
' A stress journal can help you identify the regular stressors in your life and the way you deal with them. Each time you feel stressed, keep track of it in your journal. As you keep a daily log, you will begin to see patterns and common themes. Write down:
What caused your stress (make a guess if you’re unsure).
How you felt, both physically and emotionally.
How you acted in response.
What you did to make yourself feel better. '
I hope this helps, because I now how awful it feels to have that constant churning feeling in your stomach, and feeling so strung out you could snap.
We can beat this though!!!!!
I guess to sum it up, sorry for babbling away, I just got so desperate that I did what I had to do to clear out the stress causer. which in my case was my own family crowding in on me too much.
I worry about money - my husband says we are doing fine. I have a big yard I used to look after - now I see it as a burden. My job is demanding but at least it stops me from negatve thinking.
I lie down on bed and try to do relaxation breathing exercises.
I have been on medication since my last son was born - I had post partum depression and turned into depression. My last resource is now ECT and I feel I more emotional than ever, cry easier and I seem to loose my memory. I am scared of life!
