fish oil has help me a little. Not being on the computer for long periods of time has helped too.

Try using some saline drops. Contact users all use saline drops to moist their eyes.
You don't cry enough, that is why u have dry eyes. lol!!!!

I got severe dry eye in one eye after I used Ciprofloxacin drops (antibiotic), and after doing some research, found that it was the Benzalkonium Chloride (preservative) that induced the dryness. After using so many lubricant eye drops, my eye became inflamed, so I was prescribed steroid drops which helped temporarily. But then the dryness came back. Turns out the steroid drops had Benzalkonium Chloride in them AS WELL!!! Do not put that stuff in your eye for more than 3 days in a row!!!! It damages the eye, as does any preservative if you use it too much, thus that is why the bottles of rewetting drops warn not to use for more than 72 hours if symptoms persist :/

Hyalauronic acid (for lubrication), Turmeric (for inflammation) and zeaxanthin (for light sensitivity) seem to be helping me a little. Fish oil/ flaxseed oil were kinda helpful too but you need to take them at least twice a day which is annoying and also fattening I think.

About 15 years ago I had laser surgery around my eyes, lips to remove wrinkles. I looked like I had been burned in a fire (I had no idea I would have oozing and huge scabs.

I did not suffer from dry eyes at this time.

I had to use an ointment on my skin similar to baby oil or vaseline. It was a very painful process, but the strange thing was my eyes were blood shot red and burned. I could not even walk through the house as the wind from walking hurt my eyes so much. The plastic surgeon could not figure out what was going on with my eye.
He gave me eye ointment to put in my eyes at night and then used cotton balls and tape to keep my eyes closed at night. The only think he could think of was maybe because the laser surgery tightened my skin and my eyes were not closing at night.
BUT...this only made things worse.
All these years later I finally know what happened. It must have been the ointment I put around my eye that irritated them. My eye pain was so much worse then the burns on my skin. Then the ointment I had to put IN MY EYES just made it worse.

I have to be so careful what I use on my face because somehow it can end up in the eyes, or just the fumes from creams seem to bother me.

Does anyone use a make up that has no preservatives? I'm looking for a moisturizer that has no preservatives...things like olive oil are very bad. Everything seems to irritate my eyes.

I am new to this group, I just found out over a month ago that I have dry eyes my doctor put me on some refresh eye drops and some gel. I have trouble with them hurting badly and they itch sometimes. I too would like some advice which will help me with my eyes. I am right there with you challenger
