That is SO cute!!! I'd love to see that!! Sully gives paw, but not too much more than that.

My dog skip jumps at shadows. We can be anywhere and he would go into the jumping binge. He would look like a bronking horse. All 4 paws off the ground and he would come down on the shadow with a pounce. He would give this funny bark.

We were at a fair one year and we entered Skip into the best dog trick competition. It was a fun thing. Just for a laugh. He did his antics. The kids just loved him. Would you believe he won first prize. Don't underestimate a dogs trick. He won toys, treats and free dog food. lol

free dog stuff? nice... i dont know if my dog would perform with a crowd... lol she would be too exited for a bit. but then agan, she might show off. i have also decided to teach her to jump through hoops. that should be fun.... any ideas as for whats next?

This actually stems from training that my springers get for competition hunt and field trials - I can line my dogs up in a row and throw the ball and only the one whose name gets called is allowed to go get it.

Also, I can hide the ball behind a tree or in the bushes or just walk and toss it back behind me when he isn't looking and then turn him around and say "Back" and he knows to go hunt the area I point to till he finds it!

LOL. i think mines nose is clogged. say i throw a ball.... and it goes into a patch of high grass... if she doesnt see exactly where it went... next thing you know she is looking frantically everywhere but where it is... even right next to it... then comes and stares at me like im hiding it behind my back and tricked her and never threw it in the first place.

My poodle was so easy to train and even at 8 he can learn new tricks. He twirls around and around for his cookie and I used to have the kids lie down on the floor and he'd jump over them and back and over and back for the cookie. Also, had my nephew's lab lie down on the floor and Tuffy would jump over him back and forth for a cookie, and Sabrina would get a cookie for her patience. He'd also sit on the edge of the couch and I'd hold the cookie out and higher than his level and he would stay until I said, 'jump' and jump he would and get that cookie everytime. Dusty my Aussie mix is obedient but no real tricks though she will sit when I have her rope and I throw it up high and she jumps to catch it, she would have been a good frisbee dog but I started her with ropes and she doesn't like frisbees. I say to her, 'where's your rope?' and she begins the search relentlessly until found and brings it to me and sets it on my leg. My visitors always liked that one when she brought her rope and put it in their lap and if it was not just right she will pick it up and readjust it so it won't fall. lol Dogs are great. : )

lol there is a min pin that lives in the house next door named tuffy.... does your tuffy like to bark alot? LOL...
not saying about your tuffy, but if someone could teach that dog next door to SHUT UP it would be the best ever. lol. i just get the baby to sleep and.... woof woof ... she awake. i get home from a long night at work... woof woof..... it never ends.

but im definately going to work on hoops next. my boston can jump real high.... so i hope she enjoys the hoops and will do it.

She chases the hoover!

I am taking my lab Cali to tricks class next month. We started going a couple months agoo and the heck broke loose and we couldnt finish. She can spin in a circle and then when we say reverse go the other direction. She gives paw ("are we friends?") is the command, wave, and high five ("Touchdown!!" is the command). We were working on doing things from afar as well, ie sitting in a hoola hoop and doing tricks with in the hoop about 10 feet away. There is a training technique called "shaping where basically you put an object on the floor and the dog has to figure out what you want her to do with the object in order for you to give her a treat.....Cali is pretty smart...we went from any type of touching to picking it up and dropping with in a week. We started training her that way to get on a skate board but then we werent going to class. Um, she is really good at drop it and leave it commands which are great bc a lab loves to eat anything!!

I have two chiuahuahs and if I offer treats, one will rollover n dance n the other jumps real high n shakes my hand w both paws. Simple things, but for them to b so small, its cute as heck!

My Australian Shepherd will shake hands....say the word "LIGHT" and she starts searching for the little red light that we play with....she willgo out in the mornings when she sees we dress and not before - well these are not tricks, but are out pets not the smartest?!!!!!
