This group is open for people that like dogs, have dogs as pets, work with dogs etc.
my dogs are normally incredibly well behaved, and well trained, but how, do i get my one to stop running off? i cant let him outside without me standing right there... he is an escape artist, and im so scared i will turn my back and he will be gone and hit by a car down the road or something. any ideas? he listens well, and i cant fathom why he runs away... its why his other owner got rid of him too. he is such a good dog. i dont get it. any suggestions? i want to get invisible fence, but i dont have the money right now.

time to tie him up outside then. I had to tie up one of my dogs for a couple of years before I could trust her to stay in the yard. My current dog...no way was he going to stay in the yard. I had to have a fence installed because I"m sure he would have figured out how to get around an invisable fence.

I think the best resort is to tie him up. Then when you have the money, get the invisible fencing.
