My dog, NEVER barked in the house, and even then rarely outside.
i got her a playmate, and now she BARKS at everything. lol... anyone know why this is? the new dog is the dominate one. she shuts up when i tell her, but i have to tell her often lol.
Dogs learn things from each other. My dog never barked till we moved in with another dog. Barking can also be an insecurity thing. If the new dog has asserted dominance then the other may be feeling out of place and wanting to prove itself to you. The best thing you can do is tell her to be quite and when she is reward her. Just make sure u only reward good things in both dogs, many ppl think if they reward 1 dog they have to give the other something to be fair but they have to earn it. Good luck!!
When we brought my parents dog into the house to live. My dog started barking more. We figured it out that my dog was trying to show dominance. Didn't last long because my parents dog was my dogs littler mate. And the oldest born. More or less my parents dog won and no more excessive barking.
YES, IT'S DEFINITLY A DOMINANCE THING....LOL... THEY NEED TO LET THE OTHER KNOW WHO'S BOSS AND BEEN HERE THE LONGEST. AND THEY HAVE NO PROBLEM LETTING THE OTHER ONE KNOW THIS IS MY TERITORTY.....LOL....
