Dizziness & Vertigo Support Group
Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. If you are a frequent sufferer of dizziness or vertigo, join the group and find support.
Not much has changed but feeling hoeful
I had a sinus infection about 6 weeks ago, took antibiotics, sinus healed up as far as I knew. But my ears were still clogged. I thought nothing of it, that they would eventually clear themselves.
About 3 weeks ago, I started having these symptoms like all of you. Sudden wave of random dizziness and nausea, I could slightly feel it coming on. Then once it hits, it hits. Feel dizzy, arms feel heavy, have to breathe deep to keep the anxiety at bay because I freak out every time.
Finally 3 days ago at about midnight I thought "this HAS to be something horrible", and went to urgent care. Dr. confirmed that there's a lot of fluid in both ears and that's what's causing it.
She told me to take benydryl at night, and sudefed during the day, to "dry" up the fluid, and to take Bonine to help with the vertigo.
First 24 hours it worked wonders, I thought it was gone.
So the next day, I didn't take the bonine and wasn't "diligent" about taking the sudefed.
It came right back with a vengence.
Again today, forgot to take the next dose of sudefed AND bonine, and had really bad spells.
Does anyone know HOW to get fluid out of the ears?
I thought for sure I was dying, and she said my vitals were perfect, it's definitely all that fluid.
I never knew something as simple as leftover fluid in your ears could literally change your life so much!
Feel so bad for everyone here! :-(
Finally after 4 years battling vertigo, I can say that I am vertigo free. Feel like I have my life back. I am able to enjoy my daily activities. And when I feel an episode coming back, I can stabilize within minutes and continue with my daily routine. I was very determined to overcome my imbalance, specially after the doctors told me that there was nothing more they could do for me. My reason for joining this group is to share my story and hopefully help some of the sufferers in this group.
I have done all the procedures: epley, brandt doroff, I even purchased a DizzyFix cap. I did the gaze stabilization exercises, all these procedures helped, but not 100%. Vertigo is different for everybody, what worked for me, may not work for everybody. It is always good to visit various doctors, one of them will help you, or as in my case their combined assessment.
