Dizziness & Vertigo Support Group
Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. If you are a frequent sufferer of dizziness or vertigo, join the group and find support.
A lot of people here in,DS, can understand what you are going through. I hope you ll get good news from your doctor.
Be safe and have a nice day
Thanks for sharing your post. How long has it been going on? Did those earlier tests reveal anything or was it all normal? What do you mean by "attack" and how long does one last? Does it disappear in between, for long periods of time, or is it always there to some degree?
Your condition and symptoms could be caused by one thing or several things. Tinnitus and vertigo can definitely go together, depending on the underlying cause. A lot of important stuff happens in those ears. But there are so many possible causes of both conditions.
I have the same problems, and it's from a combination of many things -- hearing damage from working at a concert, grinding my teeth for years without knowing it, sticking q-tips inside my itchy ear canals, and drinking way too many caffeinated sodas. Along the way, I was convinced again and again that I'd figured out the cause of my vertigo/tinnitus, and I just knew that my life was ruined -- multiple sclerosis, Meniere's, heavy metals, Lyme disease ..., but it wasn't any of those things. Yet, each of these conditions list similar symptoms, and they all seemed to match my problems. I was wrong and it caused me a lot of stress and anxiety, to the point of having panic attacks. So, don't follow my example.
Whatever your issue is, it could be something mundane and common. It's not yet time to think too much about the worst possible scenarios. Maybe your doctor is right about the infection, maybe not. Some people have posted here practically saying that they were dying, but when they got a simple treatment, it almost completely cleared up. Others (like me), not so lucky with the easy solution.
Hopefully, you'll get a diagnosis soon. Be patient and stay as calm as possible. It might feel terribly terrible at times -- like your body and brain are out of control. If so, you have our sincerest sympathies because we understand completely. More people have the same symptoms than you know. I hope you have some family and friends who you can rely on; but if they are not able to relate, we're happy to read your posts and support you, too.
Take it easy, and do follow up. :)
Though the inner ear in my R ear looks dull in comparison to my left, I always had trouble with my ears- R ear esp. I have always had ear infections as a youngster and I had a perforated ear drum which I think was my R ear too, I thought I'd mention that because I'm not sure if all my ear infections have anything to do with what is going on with me now.
I worry to about having about of vertigo on the road. Hopefully that will not happen.
The vertigo has effective my job. I am concerding of retiring and I really cant afford to but I am sick of losing time all the time at work.
But wait till the doctors do their thing and hopfully you will get an answer.
Hang in there
