Dizziness & Vertigo Support Group
Dizziness is the sensation of instability. Vertigo refers to dizziness with a sensation of motion. Vertigo is more likely than other types of dizziness to be associated with nausea, vomiting, or double vision, to occur even when lying down, and to feel better with the eyes closed. If you are a frequent sufferer of dizziness or vertigo, join the group and find support.
I'm sorry for your experience with vertigo. I'm 26, completely healthy but have had bad vertigo/dizziness for a long time. I was told it could be associated with an inner ear infection, which I suffered from badly as a child. But today was different. I have blacked out one other time before this in 2008 at a water park but even then I started to feel faint but this morning when I stood up I wasn't dizzy at all, just blacked out completely. And I felt myself shaking...although I thought I was dreaming. My guess is I fainted backwards and hit the back of my head on the bed and bit my lip(which was bleeding). Later I noticed a little dash above my brow. I have pain on the back of my head but I know it's from the fall. I spoke with my aunt and she suggested to make an appointment with a neurologist Monday. Before hand I'm going to check with my insurance for the cost because god knows I can't afford to pay the cost of any MRI's.
Can I ask what you do for a living? The reason I ask is that many of us are working stressful jobs and multi tasking all day long on computers, phones and dealing with people - this has to be making our brains work so hard. Maybe this weekend, you were able to relax from the working week, and your brain needs a bit longer.
Maybe you should keep a symptoms journal so when you visit your GP you'll be able to show them what you are feeling over a period of time?
Good luck. Hope your lip heals quickly.
