Since October of 08 I have been experiencing bad dizziness. When I first had it I went to the ER because it scared the hell out of me! Bascially feel like there is a magnet in my body and its pulling me. Sometimes my head rock like a bobble head and im not even moving it.There are times when it is really bad that I have to hold on to things to keep my balance. I thought it was anxiety but I dont know. Ive been to several doctors. My tests were MRI for the head CT Scan for the head and chest. Thyroid,Diabetes,Kidneys,Cholesteral,Liver. Two chest xrays and everything has came back normal as can be! I went to my ENT and she did a Champ/ABR and that came back normal! So now since this hasnt resolved on its on she is going to do an ENG for me. I noticed when I get sick with a cold or something it gets really bad. I dont know the meclizine does NOT work so I really dont know what else to do and I dont know what could becausing this. I have high blood pressure and I have sinusitus. This is just a very scary feeling and Im tired of feeling this way. Please help me ! =(

How has your blood pressure been? is it higher then usual?

After only 2 months, I lucked out and had access to an otoneurologist. My ENG showed clear nerve damage and after only 1 week of physical therapy I am seeing improvement. I hope you get results from the ENG. It sucks to think it is nerve damage, but at least with a diagnosis you can approach treatment.

Also, meclizine does nothing for me except make me drowsy. Good luck and hang in there. I know how exhausting and frustrating it is.

bmason my blood pressure has been great accept for the past couple of days been under stress. When I have these symptoms I check my blood pressure and it comes back fine so Im just waiting for the results of the ENG hopefully that will tell me something.

ENG is short for the clinical test Electronystagmography. Here's how I understand it. It is a series of neurological tests that are used to determine the functionality of the nerves involves in balance. Certain neural injuries show clear signs during an ENG that allows a quick diagnosis.
For example, my vertigo is the result of nerve damage apparently caused by a viral infection several months ago. The ENG showed clear indicators that my system was not correctly processing information needed to maintain balance and directed my treatment plan.
