Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group

I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...

My ex-husband just called me. I answer because I tought it had anything to do with my daughter, here's how the conversation went:
EX-"I heard your boyfriend is a widower, his late wife was french wasn't she?"
Me-"What does have to do with anything"
Ex-"Trust me, he will dump you pretty soon yo.....
I dont know what else he was saying because I just hang up the phone.

I am happy and kind of proud of myself-I didn't took his bait. Why bother with a jerk-moron-idiot-ass-thing like him? And I am saying this without anger...just relief!! I am no longer the wife of an abuser-narrow-minded-controlling-manipulator-not-a-real-man. Feels good!

You did well. Yes, hanging up the phone stopped the game he was trying to draw you into. You did this without anger. You have moved so far away from the ex that you will never let him draw you into his life again.

You have made your own life and he doesn't have any space in that life. You are doing great.

Good for you for HANGING UP!
Next time he calls, how about just letting him leave a message. If it's of an urgent nature, then you can decide to call back. If the message is vague, IGNORE IT. That's how the "game" is played and a sure fire way to keep you the WINNER!
