Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
I agree with movingon.. enjoy the new you! It's now YOUR time to focus on you and it sounds like you're already doing that by getting back in shape. Good for you!
I am a very social person so I'm not enjoying all this alone time at all. I don't mind some alone time but not THIS much!
Instead of dating, I would suggest you check out Meetup.com. It's not a dating site, but a site that connects you with people who share your interests.
Hugs!
You just need more time to pick yourself and dust yourself off. I have a loving family, my kids are doing great, I have a wonderful boyfriend but...I'm still sad sometimes! My life isn't what it was when I was married, I got off my career trajectory and haven't made it back career wise, my finances are depleted, I no longer own my own home.....but in many ways I'm happier then when I was married. Things will work out just as they should in the end. That's sort of my personal philosophy anyway! Hang in there!
Give yourself time and space to feel it, then set it aside and move on. It will come and go for quite a while, but each time, we learn how to work through it and move on a little easier.
Take care.

You'll feel better, I promise. It really does just take time, although I don't think we will ever be the same.
