Divorce after Twenty years together Community Group
I want to start something for those of us that were married for a long long time. I think that we face a little different issues than those who were dating for a few years or even married for shorter period of time. Being married for so long we have older children some have grandkids dealing with teenagers and their reaction to the divorice empty nesters dating after 40...
Perhaps there was a post I missed over the weekend that's been removed? If it was mean spirited, it's just as well.
Anyway, thanks for the question and thanks for the discussion. I appreciate the wisdom and honesty in this group. You're all life changers!
take all the bad and good parts. Have my back when needed. Hard to find someone like that. Good friends take time to become good friends, but they are well worth the wait.
And Wiseman....thanks again for asking!
I don't know that there's one set answer.... personally, I thought I knew what I wanted BUT have recently realized that maybe I don't??? Maybe I want a soft place to fall where all I have to be is.... a woman... not a boss, mom, teacher, etc. I didn't know how important that was to me as in the last half of my marriage it was more about me handling everything(literally... children, finances, cleaning, homework, church, planningforthe future). I have a friend who has very unassumingly stepped in to be an amazing support with my flooding disaster of a house.... I didn't know exactly what that was like in this stage of life. It is nice.... comfortable .... and peaceful. That level of "care" makes me want to spend more time with him.... that's what this woman wants..... respect and care!
