Home sweet home....well daughter's home.
We didn't realize they fire department had blocked off the streets so people couldn't go back, so my daughter had a hard time getting me. She got an escort and he was about her age and cute......
Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers. It actually started getting a little scary towards the end.

OMG...Hugs Lost...I can only imagine the fear. It has been a very long dry summer here...where I work...the farmer across the road was baling his hay...the tangs of the baler struck a rock..it ignited the field of very dry hay...it moved quickly into the forest..within minutes the trees were on fire...they were going up like roman candles...I was horrified. We were put on evacuation notice...omg...where do you take 400 head of cattle!! It took over 30 minutes for the water bombers to get there...6 hectares were lost..no homes were lost..we did not have to evacuate.

In no way does my fire event compare to what your going through but the fear does...I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers...Big Hugs..Kathy

man they move fast. Plus it get super hot.

They say that we're in for weather changes for the
Next year because of the warm water in the ocean.
I may not have to move to Florida......Florida may come to me! Ha ha.. Glad everyone is on

That must have been scary, Kathy and Bob. I'm glad you're both ok, and that lost is safe with her daughter.

We're expecting a hot dry summer here next year. They call it the El Nino effect and it's something to do with warm ocean current from South America?

Fires are scary no matter what size. Those embers can jump hundreds of feet and you never know if the wind will change. I look like I am sunburned! I'm glad neither of you were hurt. Like you, I never want to be in another one.

I'd like to mention a couple things here about my forest fire experience while I'm thinking about it.
The air got so hot that it created waves and swearls on the water..
We had had one boat with two men lost for a while. The Indian fire fighters were there and they were going to send search party out for them, but we heard their boat coming.... Could see very far. They tpls us that they got lost because they couldn't see even the front of the boat. ...very Scarry .
A float plane came in the next morning...or that afternoon ( can't remember). And evacuated us to another lake up north were there were no fires. Like I said here: the to cabins that we stayed at burned down to the ground. All this happened about 13 years ago. Ohhhh, BTW there were no roads by us .
Sooooooo, yep, very Scarry to live through one.

I closed on the purchase of my home about 2 weeks before it was flooded out in May... it would have been much easier with a partner...but between myself, my boys and some great friends, we are well on our way to fixed!!! You will find strength that you didn't know you had and friends who become family!
