I am sorry about the fires and know how you feel. My best friend Nancy who has been divorced for 8 years just called to tell me that there is a hawk in her fireplace so she taped the grill around it tightly because she was afraid it would get out and in her house. She is very independent but just said that this is when she needs a man again. :) I told her to go out to find a neighbor who can help her. Waiting for her call back to find out what happened. Not as serious as your situation with the fires but I thought it might give you a chuckle.

Let us know how it goes and just know that you will be fine.

Be careful.....
I was once in a forest fire in Canada when we where fishing there,
Its not fun. At one point we where serounded by the fire
They sent in a float plane to evacuate us. Our cabins did burn to the ground.
For those of you that have never been in a first fire ......its very frightening.
The fires spreads very fast.....faster then you think
.... And it gets very hot with burning ambers everywhere.
If I where you....... Sorry, I would have to leave......

The fires closest to me are 0% contained, over 150 sq MILES, water shortage, and whole towns have burned down. The sky was so dark today it looked like evening. Smoke is awful. 93 degrees. and less then 10 miles away. But my car has no gas and I have no idea where to go. thanks Bob, I know you understand

It's so sad. Police try to evacuate people from their homes and they won't go. Who can blame them. Right behind the police are the thieves who loot the empty homes. My daughter is going to come pick me up and bring me to her house tonight.
It is things like this that make me miss having my ex back. Someone I can lean on and knows where to go. Makes you feel safe. But then remember the last years of my marriage. The physical abuse, not allowing me food to eat or money to buy food. The demeaning hurtful remarks, the lies etc. I am better off now, but wish I had someone.

I just checked it out online. You're wise to go with your daughter to a safe place. I hope they get it under control soon.

I understand what you're saying. It's scary to face these things alone. You're right though. You are far better off without him.
